Primaries: Ondo CP urges politicians to shun violence

The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, Salami Amidu Bolaji has urged politicians in the various political parties in the State to shun violence and thuggery during the forthcoming election
According to him, politics should be seen as a channel to serve humanity.
Addressing leaders of the various political parties at a meeting organized by the command in readiness for the forthcoming parties primaries in the State, Salami Bolaji said the police under his supervision will maintain neutrality in the discharge of their functions with respect to all the political parties’ primaries holding in the State.
He further said credible election lies in the hands of politicians and political parties and urged them to maintain decency in their conduct.
Salami also said he has told his men to demonstrate professionalism in their conduct .
He said while his men will make themselves available to all participants in the electoral process, he advised those coming with their security aides and escorts to know that nobody would be allowed to come into the voting centre with any security aide throughout the duration of the election, saying this became imperative to avoid confrontation with his officers.
Salami said providing Ondo State with a policing strategy that will ensure lowest crime rate could be achieved when everyone puts the interest of the State above personal consideration.
