The Governing Council of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, (RUGIPO), Owo, has appointed Mr. Ogundaisi Gani Adebola as the new Acting Rector of the institution with effect from Tuesday 18th September 2018.
In a press release signed by the Director, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Mr S. O Ojo, the appointment followed the notice of voluntary retirement tendered by the former Rector, Engr Idowu Ologunagba which was presented to the Governing Council.
According to the Press release, the decision of the Governing Council to appoint Ogundahunsi, who, prior to the appointment was the Deputy Rector Academics, is in line with section 12(2) of the Ondo State Law Volume 3, 1996, as amended.
Ogundahunsi has served in various capacities in the institution including Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Chairman, Committee of Deans.
