We ‘ll support moves to generate employment – ODHA

Ondo State House of Assembly has pledged to support every move that will generate employment and promote the wealth of the masses for sustainable livelihood.

The Chairman house committee on commerce and industry, Mr Rasheed Elegbeleye made the pledged when he led the committee on familiarisation visit to the Ondo State Micro Credit Agency(OSMA), Ondo State Investment Promotion Agency(ONDIPA), and the Consumer Protection Council(CPC),all in Akure.

Elegbeleye who is also the Minority leader of the house assured the committee’s necessary support towards alleviating poverty in the state.

He informed that the visit became necessary to know how best they can collaborate with the agencies, known how their challenges can be tackled to ensure industrial revolution in the state.

He commended the effort of the state government in terms of industrialisation ,advising that all the moribund industries in the state should be revived to generate employment and boost the economy of the state.

The Chairman stressed the need to strengthen the CPC to enable it delivered its mandate of protecting consumers interest effectively.

Corroborating Elegbeley’s words, the Vice Chairman of the committee, Mr Festus Adefioye posited that people at the grassroot  should always be considered in the scheme of things so as to contribute their quotas to the development of the society.

While saying that the industries that are springing up in the state when fully in operation will be an enduring legacy, he assured the 9th assembly’s readiness to support such effort.
