A digital expert, Gideon Ogooluwa Omoregha has revealed that many brilliant students fail the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME because they lack adequate digital literacy skills.

He noted that ICT has revolutionised the education sector and this has necessitated students to acquire digital skills.

According to him “Now, it so no longer a story that JAMB is doing CBT exam and many students who failed JAMB, is not that they are not exceptionally good but as a result of what we call not having resources to practice.

“With incessant strike in universities, e-learning facilities can be fully installed and universities can deploy digital learning with physical classroom teachings.

“Therefore e-learning that we are preaching is something that we want all the stakeholders in education to key into”, he charged.

“Our digitally complying Governor now inculcated it and enable us to have what will an active digital platform that enables students at their various home to practice,” he said.

While commending the state government for planning to provide virtual learning classrooms for students during the upcoming long vacation, he encouraged parents to support their children in partaking in the learning process.
