The National Association of Ondo State Students, NAOSS, has described Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a responsive and outstanding leader.

The Students’ body also said it believes in good governance and Governor Aiyedatiwa has exemplified that.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Hope, the Nationals President of the body, Comrade Oyelade Hammed said NAOSS is throwing its weight behind the governor for his efforts and students-friendly attitude.

He said, “as a student organization and patriotic citizens of Ondo State, we believe in good governance and a responsive leadership. Our support for His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is borne out of his outstanding performance in the area of education since assumption of duty, ranging from the  allowance of workers in tertiary institutions in Ondo State to the approval of N1.2bn to complete abandoned projects in OAUSTECH and so on.

“He has also promised to meet up with some of our demands including student bursary and scholarship. Truly, these show he is a student friendly Governor.”

Earlier, NAOSS paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami.

While decorating the governor as the Grand Patron of the association, the students’ body advocated the immediate approval and increment of both the amount and the number of beneficiaries of bursaries and scholarships, the provision of mobile secretariat (buses), more attention to the welfare of students, and the empowerment of students through small and medium-scale entrepreneurship.

Responding, Dr Adelami assured the NAOSS representatives that he would convey their message and requests to the Governor, pledging to give due consideration to the issues raised.
