3 docked for breach of peace in Ile-Oluji

Three men, Saliu Suhaibu, 25, Sunday Stephen, 35 and Temitayo Ogunloye, 22, have been arraigned before the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo town, for conducting themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace in Ile-Oluji kingdom of Ondo state.
The trio were said to have unlawfully gathered on November 20, 2018, to install one Dada Osunyikanmi, as the Olu-Ode of Ile-Oluji, knowing fully well there is an existing Olu-Ode of Ile-Oluji.
The police brought the defendants on Monday before the court presided over by Mrs Bolatito Ajibade, on one-count of breach of peace.
The prosecution said they committed an offence on November 22, 2018 at about 11:00am at Oke- Atiba street, Ile-Oluji, in the Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo contrary to and punishable under Section 249 (D) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
When their plea wad taken by the court clerk, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Benard Olagbayi, urged the court to transfer the matter to Ile-Oluji for trial.
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Oladire Abayomi, applied for the bail of the accused in most liberal terms.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Bolatito Ajibade granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum.
She said the sureties must be residing within the jurisdiction, of the court while they must show evidence of tax payment for the current year.
Ajibade added that the residence of the sureties should be verified by the court’s orderly and report back to court.
She adjourned the case till December 18, 2018 for trial.
