The Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has called on secondary school teachers in the state to keep up their commitment to work, diligence and competence in their various subjects.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr. (Mrs) Daisi Oke, stated this while speaking with THE HOPE after leading a team of officials from the commission on a routine monitoring of public secondary schools in Ondo Central Senatorial District.
Oke stated that the commission embarked on the routine exercise, because it is one of their primary assignments, saying, “We also wanted to know how far our teachers have gone with their primary assignments in different schools, to ensure they are present in their various schools and carrying out the duties assigned to them.”
She said that most of the teachers in the schools visited were present in school, preparing report sheets, supervising examinations and carrying out other responsibilities.
“Three teams went out to different senatorial districts in the state to visit public secondary schools. We checked on the preparation of report sheets and other end-of-term activities and were impressed with the number of teachers present in the different schools.
“We received reports from the different schools visited across the three senatorial districts of the state. The teachers were carrying out their assignments and preparing for the end of the session,” she stated.
Other officials of the commission who joined the chairman were the Commissioner II, Mrs Titilayo Fayoriju, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Gabriel Fakilede, and others.
The monitoring team that visited schools in Ondo North Senatorial District was led by the Commissioner III, Mrs Ojuolape Aderemi; Commissioner IV, Alhaji Isiaka Usman, and the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Sule Adeyemi, while the Commissioner I, Mr Oladipo Ajani, led the monitoring team to Ondo South Senatorial District.
