The Chairman of Akoko North-East Local Government area of Ondo State, Alhaji Mohammed Mutiu Olawale, has joined members of the All Progressives Congress Reconciliation Committee in moves to resolve internal disagreements and strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Olawale disclosed this in a statement posted on his Facebook account, following a meeting of the committee held at the residence of a former Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Chief Pius Akinyelure.
The meeting, according to him, brought together key stakeholders of the Ondo APC to deliberate on ways of restoring unity, rebuilding confidence among members and strengthening the party’s structures across the state.
The council chairman also noted that the discussions centred on reaching out to aggrieved members and addressing issues responsible for divisions within the party.
He said the committee was determined to create an atmosphere where members could work together and contribute to the growth and electoral fortunes of the APC.
“Our discussions focused on reconciling aggrieved members, rebuilding trust, and repositioning the APC for greater cohesion, effectiveness and success at the grassroots,” Olawale stated.
The chairman said the reconciliation effort was aimed at producing a more inclusive and effective party structure capable of responding to the aspirations of its members and supporters across Ondo State.
He added that members of the committee remained committed to building a stronger and more formidable APC that would be united and better prepared for future electoral engagements in the state.
“We remain firmly committed to building a united, stronger and more formidable APC in Ondo State—one that is inclusive, focused and prepared for the future,” he added.
