I prepare well for ministration after team accident –Ayomide

A gospel artiste, Akande Ayomide, has recounted how a serious accident involving her and members of her team strengthened her faith in divine protection.

Ayomide disclosed this in an interview with Friday Extravaganza, explaining that the incident occurred while she and her team were returning from a praise night.

According to the singer, the experience serves as a reminder of the uncertainties surrounding life and the need for gospel ministers to remain spiritually grounded regardless of their level of visibility.

She said the incident further reinforced her conviction that preparation for ministry should involve more than musical rehearsals, stressing the importance of prayer before and after programmes.

Ayomide explained that she usually combines personal preparation with prayer whenever she is scheduled to minister, noting that spiritual readiness is central to her approach to gospel music.

The singer also traced her commitment to ministry to her younger years, recalling that a teacher who noticed her abilities while she was in secondary school encouraged her to pursue what he described as a calling.

She credited her elder brother, a pastor, with playing a significant role in her spiritual development and guiding her as she gradually embraced her ministry.

Ayomide, who named Shola Allyson, Bola Are, Dunsin Oyekan and Victoria Orenze as some of her musical influences, said the support and guidance she received from spiritually minded people had contributed to her growth.

She urged gospel artistes, particularly those coming into the industry, to guard against becoming overly concerned about popularity, maintaining that their primary responsibility should remain their service to God.

“Put God first. Don’t chase platforms or fame. If you glorify God through your ministrations, He will glorify Himself in you,” she said.
