Agitators have right to protest – Cleric

Nigerians and those agitating for self determination have the right to protest as long as that protest is peaceful.
The Pastor in-charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Oluwadamilare, Aje, Okeagbe in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, Samuel Agbaje stated this in a chat with The Hope in Okeagbe Akoko on Sunday.
Agbaje said Nigeria is a civilised country where agitators or peaceful protesters can stage their protests or rallies without attack by the police.
The cleric however stressed that peaceful protests must not be allowed to be hijacked by hoodlums.
According to him, security agents must display professional ethics during protests to ensure no live was wasted.
He noted that christians and non christians have been praying for the peace of the nation and as such every hands must be on deck to ensure this was achieved.
Agbaje who said that criminal index in Ondo State has reduced due to seriousness Governor Akeredolu attached to security of lives and properties in the sunshine state, commended him for increasing the number of Amotekun corps recruited in the state.
