The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called on Nigerian graduates to rededicate themselves to the task of nation-building.

Aiyedatiwa made the call while declaring open the 2024 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) orientation course for corps members deployed to Ondo State.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, disclosed that members of the service would be exposed to daunting, arduous, but fulfilling challenges of national development.

While saying that providence has brought them to contribute to the development of the Sunshine State, he admonished them to discard whatever misconception they may have been fed about the people of the Southwest and Ondo State in particular.

He described the Yorubas as respectful, peace-loving, industrious, accommodating, and, above all, God-fearing.

He promised to cater for the welfare and security of the Corps members and support the scheme to ensure that the Corps members have a memorable service year.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Amaramiro Pepple said that 1,760 youths, comprising 918 males and 842 females, were registered for the one-year mandatory national service.

The Coordinator expressed appreciation to Aiyedatiwa and the good people of the State, collaborating agencies, friends, and other critical stakeholders for their unflinching support.
