The Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has applauded the foresight of former Lagos State governor and National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his pioneering role at building an economic base which scaled up the internally generated revenue of Lagos State thus becoming one of the biggest economies in Africa
Governor Akeredolu said the commitment of Asiwaju to the economic rejuvenation of Lagos State while he was governor remained till date unparalleled such that successive administrations have continued to build on it.
He spoke on Tuesday while receiving the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Ondo State chapter who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Akeredolu disclosed that Asiwaju Tinubu worked assiduously to improve the internally generated revenue of Lagos state when he was in office and successive administrations have emulated his legacies thereby making infrastructural development of the state an easy task to pursue by governments and to the comfort of Lagosians.
He therefore charged citizens of the Sunshine State to collaborate with his administration at ensuring that the IGR of the state improves tremendously to a level of comfort just like that of Lagos State.
He expressed joy that his administration has so far improved its IGR from N700m monthly to over N1.5b monthly, saying that it is important to think out of the box for the development of the state and the benefit of the people.
“We are thinking anew, we are acting anew and government must prioritise “,he added
