Cultism: Six students docked

Six students of public secondary schools in Ekiti state have been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly belonging to a secret cult.
The suspects whose names were given as Raimi Mustapha, 22, Olamilekan Sodiq, 21, Rasaq
Taofeek, 21,Boje Oluwasola, 21, Usman Hakeem, 30, Adewale Obateru, 20, are facing a charge of cultism.
The Prosecutor Olubu Apata, said the the suspects committed the offence on August 30, 2020 at about 7:00 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants were arrested during an initiation ceremony.
Apata said the offence contravened Section 64 (a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor asked the court to grant him short adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
Similarly, counsels to the defendants, Busuyi Ayorinde, Timi Omotosho, Gboyega Abiola, urged the court to grant them bail,with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Ajibade, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the case till September 21, 2020 for hearing.
