Devt: Assist govt through communal efforts, Olubaka urges

The Olubaka of Okaland, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye has called on various communities to embrace communal efforts to complement government efforts since government cannot do it alone.

Oba Adebori equally congratulated all Nigerians for witnessing the new year and the people of the state for the various giant strides achieved by the Ondo state government particularly in the area of infrastructure and regular payment of workers’ salaries in the state.

The monarch also reminded the security agents to do more on Akoko road to reduce the menace of armed robbers and kidnappers that resurfaced along Owo/Ikare road in recent time.

In his own message, a community leader in Akoko, Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani said that 2020 will be economically buoyant for Nigeria in general and Ondo state in particular based on the early passage of budget and its signing into law.

According to him, the budget must hit the ground running by commencing immediately, particularly those affecting road projects now that we are in the dry season.

Alhaji Kilani however appealed to the people to give government their full support by avoiding statements and acts that can cause distractions, which will only slow down the pace of development in the state.
