Ondo state Commissioner for Youth development and sports, Mr Saka Yusuf- Ogunleye has charged Sunshine Stars players to make the people of the state proud by winning the matchday 32 tie against Shooting Stars football club of Ibadan.

Saka who visited the team at their Ibadan hotel urged them to see the match as a crucial one and give their best.

He said the people of Ondo state are not happy with the position of the team on the log and aware that the coaches and players are not happy as well, urging them to rewrite their story.

“The reasons why many of us are not happy is evident, I’ve come here to share the Goodwill message of Mr Governor with you, we believe you can achieve and I assure you that if you win the derby which I believe it’s possible by the grace of God we shall celebrate you big”

Saka Yusuf Ogunleye commended the efforts of the players and the technical crew advising them not to relent until they wither the storm.

He said the priority of the players remains number one and they will never be neglected or abandoned saying all their remuneration will be given prompt attention.

He promised the team cash awards for goals scored with the goalkeeper receiving a huge award if a clean sheet is kept.

“Go there and make us proud , I believe you can do it , and the merciful God will go with you , Shooting Stars are beatable “

Captain of the team, Abe Sunday who spoke on behalf of the players thanked the commissioner for deeming it fit to visit the team.

He said the players will surely give their best adding that management should contribute their quota also in moving the team forward.

” Your visit is a huge morale booster for us and we are grateful for your visit , we will do our part but we want the management to do theirs also so that the team can collectively achieve “

Also, Kennedy Boboye who spoke on behalf of the coaches thanked Saka Yusuf Ogunleye for the visit.

” I’m happy you came and I’m impressed with what you’ve done in the past few weeks, I’m glad we are getting a direction gradually, because since my appointment what the team lacked was direction because no one gives productive directives, but now things are taking shape”

He advised the people of Ondo State to keep supporting the team and never relent.
