A man narrowly escaped death as his car rammed into a school at Aule road, Akure.

The victim, who came out of the accident unscathed was said to have been hit by an SUV that lost brake and hit the victim’s car, which lost control and rammed into the fence of the school.

Residents and parents that came to pick their children in the school expressed  gratitude to God that the car did not hit any of the students.

The owner of the SUV, who did not disclose her name to The Hope Metro said,  “The  brake of my car failed and I didn’t know what to do. That was why my car hit the man’s car from the rear.”

One of the parents that witnessed the accident,  said she was in her car, which was just few metres away from the accident spot, waiting for her kids to come out from the school when she heard a loud crash.

“When I looked back, I saw the man’s car had been hit from behind and I think because of shock, the man could not stop the car. Instead, he pressed harder on the accelerator which made the car rammed into the wall.”

The school Proprietress, Mrs Obaseki expressed gratitude to God that no student was involved in the crash.

“That scene where  the accident happened is where students from this school and other schools  pass when they are going home.

“In fact, a lot of them always gather around this place to chat and play with one another.”

“I really thank God that the students had not trooped out of their schools at that time”

One of the teachers of the school who gathered at the scene revealed that just behind the school wall were two big dustbins where students dump refuse.

“I really bless God that it was the time of their fellowship and they had all gone into the hall. Otherwise, what would have happened, would have been tragic.
