Govt inaugurates Youth Parliament today

In a bid to acquaint the youth with legislative experience, the Ondo State Government will today inaugurate the Youth Parliament following the expiration of the first session in 2013.

The event which was earlier slated for March 27 this year and later postponed due to the outbreak of  COVID- 19 pandemic in the country, will now come up through teleconferencing by  noon.

This was contained in  a release made available to newsmen by the media officer , Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Augustine Adeoye.

The State governor,  Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu  is expected to declare the session open in which members will take the oath of office and be inducted.

The Youth Parliament of Ondo State is fashioned towards the composition of its state House of Assembly  in line  with the National Youth Policy (2019).The policy  requires the  inauguration of the parliament in every state of the Federation in order to give the youth, who are future leaders,  the legislative experience and exposure to democratic values and
