I fought for Akure railway line -Alasoadura

The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for this Saturday’s general election, Chief Tayo Alasoadura has declared that he fought for the railway lines that were recently approved for Ondo State.

Alasoadura declared this while featuring as a guest on The Hope platform last Monday, saying his constituents are happy with the services he has rendered in the last three and a half years.

President Muhammadu Buhari during his campaign in Akure, the Ondo State capital few days ago had announced that the rail line instead of passing from Ore to Benin will have to pass through Akure to Ore.

Alasoadura declared that he has been very visible in the Senate despite been a first timer at the Hallowed Chamber, he has attracted many opportunities to Ondo State and her people.

His words:”I believe, knowing the empirical facts that my people are happy with the little I have been able to contribute. They see me as a very active lawmaker, they see me as not one who goes there to steal, as one who can fight for their right.

Like I fought for our railway to come through Akure to Benin rather than going through Ore straight to Benin and so many other things I have been able to do for my people. I think and believe my people are happy with me.”

He said he used his connection with Senator Gbenga Ashafa who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Transport and with the Minister of Transport and the presidency to seek for the diversion of the railway project from Ore through Akure to Benin

Alasoadura who boasted that he will defeat his challengers including the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko in the Saturday election listed some of his achievements to include Petroleum Industry Bill, Ore-Ondo-Akure-Owo-Ose-Benin rail, various empowerment programmes and execution of over 80 completed projects in his constituency among others.

On the alleged crisis within Ondo APC, Alasoadura said there is no division in the party noting that the vision of all APC members is to ensure massive votes for President Muhammadu Buhari and all the party candidates

“I don’t believe that there is any problem in our party that can cause division. The mission is to ensure massive votes for our president and as many as possible for all our legislators . There might be little disagreement here and there but the mission remained the same but where the mission is not the same, there may be danger. But in Ondo APC, there is no danger.”

He said his party has campaigned vigorously across Nigeria to ensure victory in the coming election as against opposition who were crying of rigging saying over 1000 groups are campaigning for APC candidates

“I don’t see any tension. You see, lazy men usually blame their toes. PDP is crying today that they are going to rig election, that they are going to do that, but they have forgotten that when APC campaign all over Nigeria,  right from the ward to units with so many people campaigning for a party,, almost 1000 voluntary organisations apart from the contestants themselves , campaigning, PDP were there complaining about one issue or the other.  When APC was taking his message to the people. “
