Irele appeals to Akeredolu on new monarch

The Oyenusi of Irele Kingdom, High Chief Olagundoye Ajigbore has appealed to Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to expedite action on the installation of a new king for Irele community.
Ajigbore made this appeal while speaking with journalists yesterday at his residence in Ode Irele during the celebration of Ore festival.
“As you can see, we don’t have a king in this community, if not, by now I should have been at Ore – Ile with notable people to bring the king to Ore shrine.”
While explaining the importance of the annual Ore festival in the ancient town, he warned youths to desist from any action that could tarnish the image of the community.
His words: “Ore festival is a very good festival which has been in existence for a long time, which our people in diaspora would have come home to celebrate with us, saying whoever is alive to witness this festival should be happy.”
Ajigbore, however, warned youths in the community to celebrate in peace and harmony without violence saying, “we are now civilized unlike the olden days, I do not want the use of cutlass, spraying of blue powder or white on anyone, whosoever violates the rules would be handed over to the law enforcement agent he warned.
