Lawmakers undergo COVID -19 tests

As the lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly have gone through Covid-19 tests, they have assured that they would make it public when the results are out.
The Hope reliably gathered that health workers were on ground on Monday at the Speaker’s lodge to take samples of the lawmakers.
Speaking with the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Akogun Gbenga Omole, shortly after the tests, he said that it was important to know their status.
According to him, as responsible citizens, it was necessary to do the needful, and when the results come out, it would be made public.
“Like I have said, none of the lawmakers has the symptoms of the virus as at the time of going through the tests, but it became important to clear all doubts.
Speaking on their resumption after a one- month recess, he assured inidigenes of the states of making positive impacts towards moving the state to a greater height.
Omole who informed that there are pending issues on ground that members have to deal with, noted that they have fully resumed for their legislative business.
Also speaking, the Majority Leader of the house, Jamiu Maito, posited that while on recess ,they carried out oversight functions and committees meetings, which are some of the major duties of the parliament.
Maito, who assured people of a robust collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government, said there will be relative peace as the gubernatorial election in the state gathers momentum.
“ As we move towards the governorship election in the state, I know that there will be anxiety here and there, because political parties will conduct primary elections in the next two weeks, we urge people to remain calm and I can assure that nothing is going to affect our peace”, he averred.
