Mrs. Akeredolu bags ICT/Digital award

The First Lady of Ondo State, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has been presented with an award of excellence in Information Communication and Technology/Digital Infrastructure by Women in Infrastructure  Community  Africa (WICA).

According to WICA, the award was in recognition of Mrs Akeredolu’s landmark achievements in ICT/Digital space.

While presenting the award to her,,  Dr. Aminat Ajenifujah-Abubakar, said that WICA appreciated her footprints in the digital space and came to encourage her not to relent in her drive.

According to Dr. Ajenifujah-Abubakar: “WICA is a group of women professionals in Infrastructure founded by Dr. Olajumoke Akiode in 2017, which cuts across ICT, Architecture, Engineering, Planning among others, working together to see how women can contribute their quota to the development of the society.

In her response, Mrs. Akeredolu while expressing gratitude for the honour said that she saw the need to bridge the gap in ICT having traveled far and wide. She explained that the digital space was a gender neutral arena where women and girls can key into to make money seamlessly.

Mrs Akeredolu who  shared some of her giant strides through the BEMORE empowered initiative said: “I will continue to impact lives and breed new generation of girls who will be empowered to birth the desired change,” she said.

Giving her remarks on behalf of WICA, Mrs . Ronke Adelowo, said that WICA was ready to partner the office of the Wife of the Governor as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to volunteer training on Landscaping, Interior Design and Decoration, among other areas of infrastructure in future editions of the BEMORE Programme.
