NWFL: Remo put three past Sunshine Stars

Remo Stars put three past Sunshine Stars FC in the matchday 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football League decided at the Ikenne township Stadium yesterday.

The Akure Landlords held their hosts till 39minutes before Seun Ogunribide broke the deadlock for his side with classical goal.

The visitors’ threatened the hosts frequently but unable to found the back of the net before interval.

Sunshine Stars came out with all intent to level the lead in the second half but it was the hosts that extended their advantage through Andy Okpe  in the 70 minutes after tapped in the second goal for the Skye blue. Although Sunshine Stars protested an offside in the goal’s build up.

The 78 minutes of the contest would have marked Sunshine Stars come back to the game after Cooper Ikenna found the back of the net , but the goal was chalked off as Promise Awosanmi was adjudged to have touched the ball with his hand in the build up.

Okpe sealed the victory for his side in the 86 minutes with his brace of the day and ensure the maximum point is in the kitty.
