Omawa Club gives scholarships to 9 students
As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the Omawa Club of Ikaleland has bestowed N50,000 cash scholarship each upon nine Ikale students enrolled in tertiary institutions, aiming to bolster educational advancement.
The presentation ceremony, held at the club House in Okitipupa, was filled with jubilation and optimism as the recipients gratefully accepted their awards.
The beneficiaries include, Fasuyi Emmanuel Ayanfe, Megbowon Adetosimi Raymond, Ogunmesin Oluwatobi Blessing, Akinrotimi Oluwadunsi Faith, Akinrotimi Dominion
Oyindamola, Oyepitan Hannah Oreofe,Oyepitan Emmanuel Iyanuoluwa, Adebusoye Temitope, and Megbowon Victor Roland.
Dr. Oluwole Olakunde, the club’s president, stressed the importance of investing in education as a driving force for societal advancement.
He reiterated the club’s dedication to empowering young minds and easing financial burdens hindering academic pursuits.
Dr. Olakunde affirmed that Omowa Club, renowned for its philanthropic efforts, is steadfast in its commitment to providing scholarships to students within the Ikale territory.
The event’s highlights included the distribution of cheques to the beneficiaries, accompanied by the president’s prayers for their academic success.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Temitope Adebusoye, a 500-level Law student at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, expressed gratitude on behalf of the recipients, stating, “I feel immensely grateful; this scholarship will greatly support my academic journey and serve as a beacon of hope to strive for excellence.”
