Ondo police parade 23 suspects

The Ondo State Police Command has paraded 23 suspects at its headquarters, Igbatoro road, Akure.
The suspects, included 17 arrested for robbery, five for cultism and one for kidnapping, were found with items such as machete, pistols, bullets, mobile phones, and a Toyota Corolla car, while the sum of N230,000 were recovered from them.
Two of the suspects, a 20-year-old, Emmanuel James and 26-year-old, Wisdom Richard, were suspected to be the killers of the personal assistant to the owner of Farbas Petrol Station, Alagbaka Akure, Abdullah Bolakale last month.
The suspects who confessed to the killing of Abdullah Bolakale said the victim was mistakenly shot while on robbery operation at the filling station.
Another suspect, a 23-year-old, Iyabo Julius confessed to hiring her new boyfriend Adedayo Sunday, to rob her old boyfriend of his motorcycle and also kill him so that they could get married.
“He told me that killing the man is the only way we can get married. I later told him I was pregnant but he said I should go for abortion.
“That was how he brought the idea that we should kill him to enable us marry.
Speaking with The Hope Metro. CP Bolaji Salami assured of the command’s commitment to curb criminality in the state.
According to him, the command will not relent in its efforts in ensuring that criminals are apprehended and brought to book.
“We will continue to work harder and make sure we arrest other members of the group and charge them to court.
“We will not allow any criminal to operate in the state without being caught.
