Osun ‘ll facelift Sango shrine
Osun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Bankole Ojo has reiterated the commitment of the State Government towards facelifting culture and tourists’ sites across the State.
The Commissioner made the assertion in his speech, at the Sango Timi Festival held in Ede.
The Commissioner stressed further that Governor Ademola Adeleke is a lover of culture and tourism and will not leave any stone unturned to upgrade it with a view to boosting the State economy.
He disclosed that a pavilion would be built in the Shrine where Tourists will recline to have fun.
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade and the Executive Secretary Osun Council for Arts and Culture, Mrs Solape Abolarin solicited the cooperation of Osun people with the State Government towards developing the Culture and Tourism sector.
Also speaking, the General Manager, Osun Tourism Board, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi stressed that indigenous culture is irreplaceable, advancing that Sango, the god of iron, has a prominent role to play in the history of Yoruba race .
The Timi of Ede land, Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal in his speech encouraged the people of Ede land to be more committed to their culture and traditions.
