Osun NSCDC arrests plumber over burglary, theft

A 33-year-old Plumber, Gbenga Olamilekan, has been paraded by the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) over  alleged theft of television and laptop.

Parading the suspects before newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, on  behalf of the state Commandant, Sunday Agboola, said the suspect was apprehended by officers of the corps.

She said the suspect broke into the house of a lawmaker,  Akinwale Lawanson and carted away television, two pairs of shoes, one laptop, and clothes on September 2, 2022 at the resident of complainant in ilesa.

“Unpon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and some exhibits were recovered from him.

“He used to repair the faulty plumbing pipes and other connections in the six flat apartments of the complainant.

“He gained access to the complainant’s  house and carted away his television, a laptop, two pairs of canvas, kitchen utensils and a keg of palm oil,”he stated.

The NSCDC spokesperson urged the residents of the state to always be security conscious, saying they should report the suspected movement of the strange people in the area to the security agents.

She said the command is determined to rid the state of criminal elements.
