Parents have been advised not to force career on their children but to rather guide them in their choice of career.

Speaking in an interview with The Hope, the Director of Royal Jewel International School, Akure,  Mrs Christiana Adewale said that  career  choice determines what  a child will become  in future.

Adewale charged parents to allow their children choose careers that they love and will be ready to put in their best.

In her words:” Some parents force whatever they want on their children, not allowing the children to make their own choices”.

She added that choosing career is the ability of the children to decide on their own, while they are young what they want to become later in life and pursue it,  in order to make their future bright.

According to her, growth stops at the age of seven, saying that whatever a child becomes at seven years, tends to stay with  the child forever.

The director noted that when children choose their careers themselves, it will motivate them and they will be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve their goals.

She therefore advised parents not to  influence the career choice of their children  but allow them to be whatever they want to be in life.

Also speaking, the proprietress of the school,  Mrs Kehinde Longe implored  children to work to become what they want to be while urging the parents to support their children in whatever laudable decision they make.
