Suspected Yahoo boy injures one, damages vehicles in Ekiti

A rocky driver suspected to be Yahoo boy on Tuesday injured one person and damaged several vehicles in Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State, when he allegedly rammed into vehicles parked by the road side.

The incident which occurred at the popular Oke Oriomi area of Ado-Ekiti, resulted into long traffic jam in the area as motorists and other road users were stranded for  hours.

According to an eyewitness account, the amateur driver was coming from the Okesa axis and heading towards Irona, when he veered off the road, rammed into vehicles parked by the roadside and injured one person.

The suspected Yahoo boy was said to have sighted a patrol team of police, and out of anxiety, switched his lexus Toyota car to reverse mode, but lost control of the vehicle.

In the process, the driver rammed into three other vehicles and injured a woman on a motorcycle.

The driver has been handed over to the Traffic Department of the Ekiti State Police Command for further investigation.

Confirming the incident, a senior police officer from the Traffic Department of Okesa police station, said the suspected Yahoo boy is in their custody.

He explained that the injured victim has been rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
