Two in court for stealing Okada

The Ondo State Police Command has dragged two persons before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court for alledged Conspiracy and Stealing.
Two men Afolabi Abiodun, 36 years old and Nelson Ige, 62 were arraigned before an Akure Magistrate Court for allegedly snatching a motorcycle from one Oladuja Kola and attempted to ran away.
Afolabi Abiodun was said to have on September 2, 2020 at about 8:16pm at Adekunle Ajasin road, Akure, conspired together to steal a TVS motorcycle with registration number LEL 694 WX valued T #365,000,00, property of one Oladuja Kola.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Adesegun, told the court that Afolabi Abiodun, the attacked the victim with woodstick on the head and neck in order to weaken him, with the intent to collect his motorcycle and ran away before he was caught.
He added that during the investigations, it was gathered that the second accused person was the one who sold the motorcycle to the victim and intending to collect it back from him.
The two accused persons who were facing a three-count charges of Assault, conspiracy and stealing, pleaded not guilty of the offenses charged against them.
The offences committed was said to be contrary to and punishable under sections 355, 390(9) (d) and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol 1 Law of Ondo State Nigeria 2006.
Counsel to the accused persons, Mr Olubunmi Akinola prayed the court to grant her clients bail on a liberal term and promised that they will not jump bail.
In his ruling the Chief Magistrate Olanipekun Mayomi granted the accused persons bail with the sum of ₦10,000 each two sureties in a likely sum and adjourned the case to September 24, 2020.
