Parents have been advised to caution their children against involving in internet fraud known as Yahoo yahoo’ as those involved are heading towards destruction and untimely death.
The parish priest of Mary Queen Of Apostles Catholic Church Ijoka, Akure, Very Reverend Father Raphael Adesulu gave the admonition while commemorating 2021 Youth Harvest Thanksgiving.
According to the clergy man who lamented the high rate of Youth involvement in Yahoo ‘yahoo as a means of acquiring illicit wealth, disclosed that those already doing it are heading towards destruction and early death.
His words: “parents should warn their children against engaging in internet fraud popularly called yahoo yahoo or 419, some of them who are already in it are doom for destruction.
“None of them will live longer because what they have done to themselves and innocent people to amass ill-gotten wealth will not last the test of time.
“I am calling on parents to monitor their children and wards against fraudulent way of acquiring wealth which they will not live long to enjoy.
“You should advise your children to work and engage in useful ventures instead of looking for short cut to amass wealth. Some of these yahoo boys have soiled their hands with fetish things,” he stated.
He told the congregation on how a student a of Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA who hailed from Akoko was thriving in food processing businesses in school urging them to emulate the young man and stop yahoo’ yahoo’.
