We ‘ll address women, children challenges – Adeyemi

Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Titi Adeyemi has said the ministry will foster a more cordial relationship with the public towards addressing the challenges of children, women and the vulnerables in the society.

The commissioner stated this while fielding questions from some journalists shortly after an interactive session with the management and staff of the ministry as she assumed office.

Noting that the ministry is important and unique as it on daily basis interacts with the public, she maintained that its contributions to the positive image making of the government cannot be over-emphasized.

To this end, she enjoined the staff of the ministry to work with her as a team and equally work closely with the office of the wife of the governor, so as to move the state to the next level.

Mrs Adeyemi who averred that she will try her best to make a difference in the ministry promised to run an open door policy.

“My vision is to ensure that the ministry ranks best among its counterparts, because a lot is expected of the ministry, we will engage women and others that have connection with the ministry the more through regular meetings and interactive sessions to achieve the set objectives”, she stated .

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Alaba Adeyemi who stated that the Commissioner is not new to the ministry having served as a Senior Special Assistant on Women Affairs to the Governor pledged the staff unalloyed support.

The PS posited that they will discharge their duties diligently and wished her a successful tenure.

The staff also commended the Commissioner for giving them the opportunity to bare their mind on issues in the ministry and promised to cooperate with her for effective service delivery.
