As Gov hosts City Boy Movement, promises to back support groups

By Fisayo Akinduro

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Friday received in audience the leadership of the Ondo State chapter of the City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu political group, at the Governor’s Office in Akure.

The group, led by its State Coordinators, Mr. Oluwafemi Ayejusunle and Hon. Tomide Akinribido, paid the courtesy visit to brief the Governor on its activities, structure, and grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They also sought the support of the governor and collaboration of the state government on the activities of the group in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the group for its commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and for sustaining advocacy for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Governor disclosed that Ondo State has declared full support for the re-election of President Tinubu using the entire government machinery by his proclamation of “Ondo For Tinubu 2027”.

He noted that the visible achievements of his administration in the areas of infrastructure, job creation, youth employment, and people-oriented empowerment programs will serve as the needed leverage to garner more support for the President in the state.

“Our people are seeing and feeling the impact of good governance. From road projects to health, education, and empowerment, we are building a foundation that makes it easy to sell the Renewed Hope message in Ondo State.

“Every action we take that impact the people positively is a vote for the president. Every of the 6,000 jobs we have created is a vote for the president. Every road we build attract votes for the president. Every political appointment we make has multiplier effects that translate to more votes for the president.

“The President’s vision aligns with what we are doing here, and our people will reward that with their votes in 2027,” the Governor said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the City Boy Movement of his administration’s support, adding that all support groups working for the reelection of President Tinubu in Ondo State will be carried along and given the necessary backing to succeed.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Ayejusunle, thanked the Governor for his exemplary leadership and for aligning Ondo State with the progressive agenda of the president.

Reeling out the activities of the group since it began, he pledged that the group will intensify grassroots sensitization to ensure victory for President Tinubu and the APC in 2027.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti and Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr Abiola Olawoye.
