A 61-year old man, Cosmos Oluwafemi, was on Thursday remanded at a correctional facility by a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged offence of attempted murder.
Oluwafemi was brought before the court over an alleged offence committed against one Olawale Aderibigbe on August 15, 2026, within the Iyin-Ekiti Magisterial District.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that there was probable cause to remand the defendant, who was reasonably suspected of committing the alleged offence.
Oriyomi said the alleged offence contravenes Section 241 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor told the court that further investigation was required into the matter and urged it to remand the defendant for 30 days.
He also informed the court that the original case file had been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
