The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian Army have pledged continued support for the Ondo State Police Command in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
The commitment was made during separate courtesy visits to the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, at the Police State Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The visitors were the Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA Ondo Command, Afolayemi Adeyemo, and the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Jubril Garba.
Adeyemo said a strong partnership with the police was critical to the NDLEA’s efforts to combat drug abuse and other related crimes.
He said the agency was committed to fostering a closer working relationship with the police, particularly in intelligence gathering and information sharing, to enhance efforts to identify and dismantle criminal syndicates.
The NDLEA commander commended Ohagwu for his resilience in fighting crime and appealed for continued support in future operations.
Responding, Ohagwu assured the NDLEA of the command’s continued cooperation and readiness to deepen the existing synergy.
Garba, who also visited the command, said the Nigerian Army held the Nigeria Police in high esteem as the lead security agency in the country.
He commended the police command’s efforts in curbing crime, saying his visit was aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture through closer partnership.
According to him, effective intelligence sharing, joint operations and regular security meetings were necessary to improve operational efficiency and develop coordinated strategies against crime and criminality.
Garba assured the police command of the brigade’s continued support towards maintaining peace and security in Ondo State.
Ohagwu also commended the Brigade Commander and pledged greater collaboration and synergy between the police command and the Nigerian Army.
The engagements focused on strengthening inter-agency synergy, intelligence sharing, joint operations and information exchange in the collective effort to combat crime across the state.
