Adeleke pledges continued support for Nigerian Armed Forces

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reiterated his commitment to supporting the Nigerian Armed Forces to enable them in their duty of safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.

Speaking at the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony at the state military Cenotaph on Wednesday, Adeleke emphasised that the military’s role in protecting the nation against external aggression cannot be overstated.

He stressed the importance of continuous support for the Armed Forces in their mission.

The governor also urged military personnel to remain steadfast in their commitment to the values of patriotism, loyalty, and sacrifice for which the Nigerian Armed Forces are renowned.

He offered heartfelt condolences to the families of fallen heroes and veterans, paying tribute to their service, dedication, and gallantry in defending the nation.

Adeleke commended the efforts of the Armed Forces in ensuring the peace and security of the country, describing their contribution as invaluable.

“We will continue to support the Armed Forces to enable them perform their duties of protecting the territorial integrity of our nation and state,” he declared.

In his message to the families of fallen heroes and veterans, the governor expressed deep gratitude and sympathy, stating, “To the families of our fallen heroes and veterans, we offer solemn heartfelt condolences and deepest gratitude.”

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an annual occasion to honour the bravery, sacrifices, and loyalty of Nigeria’s military. The day is marked by ceremonies and parades across the country, with citizens and dignitaries paying tribute to the fallen heroes and veterans.
