Agency to make case for Akure inferno

The Ondo State Agency for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services has said that it will look into the case of the fire disaster that destroyed good worth millions of naira at a Furniture company located at the Industrial Park, on Benin-Owo expressway .
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, Mr. Olatunji Ifabiyi gave the assurance when he visited the scene.
According to the Press Officer of the Agency, Mr. Samson Omotayo the Special Adviser, who was accompanied to the location, by the Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Mr. Sunday Lebi said the management of the agency would look into the case and make proper recommendations to the government in order to forestall reoccurence.
Ifabiyi enjoined the people to be their brother’s keeper by rising up to any occasion when ever such situation occurs.
The Permanent Secretary Mr Sunday Lebi, stated the need for a fire service station to be cited within the industrial park axis due to its high amount of combustibles.
He urged people to stop burning refuse close to individual homes during the dry season to avoid inflammability of the fire during harmattan season.
Three eye witnesses, Mrs Agbil Alice, Mr Temitope Owoeye, and Mr Fabunmi Ayodele, attributed the fire outbreak to an electricity spark which led to the inferno.
The Managing Director of the furniture company, Mr Gbadebo Oyefusi regretted that nothing could be done to safe the inferno in spite of people’s effort that rallied round him to salvage the situation.
He however, solicited for government support to alleviate the situation saying that millions of naira have been lost to the fire outbreak.
