By Josephine Oguntoyinbo
The only female aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ondo Central Senatorial district , Princess Olawunmi Olatunji has debunked the rumour making round that she has withdrawn from the contest, saying that she is very much in the race to win.
She stated this while speaking with the press in her campaign office in Akure that all her supporters should disregard the rumour as she would be contesting for the APC Senate primary slated for tomorrow.
She described the news as not only laughable but a mere child’s play.
The Akure Princess noted that she knew what it takes to embark on the journey,as she had made due consultations and meetings across all the six local governments of the district.
While expressing confidence in the system and in the leadership of the party, she said she was most assured of coasting home victorious in the race as she was loved by her people and would not want to thrash that trust.
“Some information that could be disturbing came to me overnight about my withdrawal from the senatorial race.
“For someone like me, who have been in the race and understands what it means to embark on such a journey, it is interesting that someone will sit at one corner and cook things that does not exist.
“I want to reiterate to all my supporters across the six Senatorial districts in Ondo Central and boldly say that l am very much in the race. I have not thought otherwise. l am not relenting in this struggle.
“I have started this race and l have confidence in the system and in my people.l am loved by all and that love that my supporters have for me. l will not thrash it. l have confidence that the people will do the right thing.
“I want to make history, to be the first female Senator that will be produced in the central and in the State at large. l look forward for a favourable outing tomorrow and our governor has promised us a free and fair election”,She stressed.
She therefore implored delegates to throw their support behind her in large numbers tomorrow so as to enjoy the full dividends of democracy, promising not to let them down.
