Apprentice remanded for murder

For killing a 36-year-old man Femi Ogundipe, with a gun, an Akure Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of one Adeleke Onintan, in police custody.

The 28-year-old accused person was also alleged of attempting to kill one Olawale Ogundipe by matcheting him on his head with a cutlass.

The prosecution said, the defendant and others at large committed the offence in February 12, 2020 at about 1800hrs at Okunmo town via Okitipupa in the Ondo state Magisterial district.

The offences were said to be contrary to sections 324, 316, and punishable under sections 319(1),320 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The prosecutor, Inspector Uloh Goodluck, informed the court of his intention to move an application on notice for the remand of the defendant in the Correctional service center pending advice from the office of the DPP.

Lawyer representing the accused person, Mr, C.o Falana prayed for a very short adjournment to enable him study the case probably to file his counter affidavit.

Align with the defense counsel’s prayer, Magistrate, N.T Aladejala adjourned the case till April 11, 2020, and ordered that the defendant be remanded in police custody.
