Aragbaiye charges ‘Change Ambassadors’ on reform process

Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaiye has charged the newly, appointed Change Ambassadors to see themselves as role models to effect the new reform process across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state government.

Aragbaiye gave the charge during his maiden meeting with the Change Ambassadors.

He enjoined them to take special interest in the activities of their various MDAs and  charged them to lead by example to effect the desired change to achieve the best practices in the State Public Service.

The Change Ambassadors, who were selected from all the MDAs and inaugurated by the Governor during the Civil Service Week in December last year, were tasked  to motivate others to perform their duties in accordance with the Ethics and Values of the Civil Service, give progress report and feedback to the Reform Office on areas that needed government attention to enhance better performance of the State Public Service.

The Head of Service reiterated the commitment of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to  regular payment of salary and pension of both the serving and retired workers to enhance their welfare.

He  assured that the state government under the leadership of Governor Akeredolu has concluded negotiation with the Organised Labour Unions in the state on the payment of the N30,000.00 minimum wage and would soon commence the recruitment of more workers to fill the available vacancies as a way of motivating the state public servants to be dedicated to duties and deliver quality service to the people of the state.

Speaking on the intents of the Reform Initiative tagged ” Ondo Service Improvement Programme”, ODSIP, the Permanent Secretary, Department of Service Matters, Mr Bayo Philip, said the reform was meant to have a well- motivated and productive public service capable of delivering government policies and programmes efficiently.

He added that ODSIP would focus on result-oriented leadership as encapsulated in the acronym L-ReVaMP cardinal points aimed at achieving Value Reorientation, Process Re-engineering, Manpower Improvement, Resource Management and Revenue Improvement.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Secretary of the Reform Office, Mr Gbenga Akingbasote, said the Change Ambassadors were appointed to drive the New Reform Initiative as well as represent the Reform Office in their various MDAs.
