Assembly election: Ondo Gov lauds electorate

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has commended people of the state for voting candidates of their choice into the state House of Assembly, saying their decisions would bring about continued progress and prosperity for the state.
This was contained in the Governor’s state broadcast where he specifically thanked people of the state for identifying with his achievements so far and signaling for its continuity through their votes.
According to him; “my dear people of Ondo State, last Saturday, you spoke loud and clear. Your language is unmistakable. Your choice is for progress and prosperity for our dear State.
“I am persuaded that the peace, progress and unprecedented developments in the state will continue to serve as impetus for our future endeavours.
“I hereby use this auspicious moment to assure you that under my watch, the good works of developing our State will continue.
“Our commitment to growth in infrastructure, road, education, health, provision of potable water and many other interventions will continue undistracted, and the fortune of our state will continue to blossom”, he said.
Akeredolu who congratulated people of the state for being great ambassadors of democracy, thanked them for their peaceful and very commendable conduct during the elections.
He added that their attitude have shown the true character and value of the State as a land of uncommon heroes who are committed to the best ideals of representative democracy.
The Governor, who stressed that the importance of the election cannot be over-emphasised, added that it signifies the foundation for the convention of the second arm of Government whose responsibility as law making body is a key tool in the overall performance of government.
He expressed his appreciation to the leadership, officers and men of all the various security agencies whose alertness and efficiency ensured that the state remained a shining example of communal harmony.
Arakunrin Akeredolu used the occasion to warn those who tried to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state on account of their misguided partisanship.
He equally used the opportunity to express his condolences to the family of Mr Ibrahim Okanlawon, the young corps member who served as INEC ad-hoc staff and who lost his life in a boat mishap in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
