BHCPFP: ODSG registers 20, 416

Twenty thousand, four hundred and sixteen people have been registered for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund Programme which will commence soon in Ondo State, The Hope has gathered.
Director General, Ondo State Contributory Health Commission(ODCHC), Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin revealed this while playing host to the state coordinator, World Health Organisation (WHO),Dr Akinola Fatiregun in his office in Akure.
According to him, between December 31, 2019 and . May 31, 2021 Abiyamo Maternal and Child Health Insurance Scheme (AMCHIS) has recorded a total of 18,559 beneficiaries (Pregnant women and children under age 5) with over 10,381 pregnant women who have enjoyed antenatal care services and 4,287 deliveries recorded (112 twins, 4 triplets and 1 quadruplet, while 203 primary healthcare facilities across the 18 local government areas of the state have been listed as service providers.
He commended the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his innovation in the health sector noting that the present governmen is determined to provide health insurance cover for all residents of the state.
Responding Dr, Fatiregun, said that the visit aimed at strengthening relationship between the organization and government noting that it is important to work closely and monitor all health programmes of the state, to identify areas of challenge and where to give support saying “achieving Universal Health Coverage is a cardinal target WHO must achieve.”
He expressed appreciation for the quality of work done and the on- going ones in the sector and promised that WHO will continue to partner with the state to achieve the desired health insurance coverage.
