As President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in for another four years in office, some stakeholders in the Nigeria project have expressed optimism that the president would consolidate on his past achievements and improve the economy of the country.

Speaking on the achievements of the president in the past four years and their expectations for the next four years, some stakeholders including Ondo State APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin, former chairman, Ondo State Water Corporation, Chief Dapo Filani and a lawmaker-elect representing Akoko North-West constituency 2, Muhammed Taofik believed that president Buhari did well in his first tenure and called for more improvement in the second term.

They lauded the president for his commitment to the development of the nation in his first four years, urging him to do more as he took the oath of office for another four years.

They specifically applauded the president for his giant strides in the areas of agriculture, security and job creation and the economy.

Adetimehin said: “In the last four years, he has done the country proud and he has done the party proud. In terms of providing employment for unemployed youths, he has done well. In the area of security, he has improved on what he met on ground.”

He equally commended the president for neutralising Boko Haram terrorists.

“He has improved on the economy of the country. We are just asking him to do more and that is why we have this “Next Level”. By the grace of God within the next four years, he is going to focus more on the remaining aspect of the security so that the people of this country can completely be free and live in peace.

Also, a chieftain of the party, Chief Dapo Filani, said President Buhari has discouraged public office holders from stealing public funds.

He disclosed that overwhelming victory of the president in the last elections was an indication that Nigerians are satisfied with his performance in the last four years.

Filani lauded Buhari’s achievements in the areas of railway, airline, job creation through agriculture and diaspora transfer of technology, charging him to do more to improve on the economy and ensure food sufficiency in the country.

Contributing, a lawmaker-elect, representing Akoko North-West 2 in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Muhammed Taofik, gave kudos to the president for his numerous achievements in the last four years, despite the challenges.

According to him, there is no country in the world with perfect economic base and development, saying he rated the president 70 per cent going by the economic situation he met on ground.

The APC lawmaker argued that past government had brought down the country economy through corruption before Buhari came in to save the situation, saying that Buhari’s second term would have a great impact on the development of the country.

He commended the president for his achievements in road construction, building of schools and the school feeding programme in the country.

Taofik equally charged the president to intensify efforts in agricultural development to ensure food sufficiency in the country.
