Chelle Unveils Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Super Eagles’ head coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, has announced a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The squad includes key players such as goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Kayode Bankole, defensive stalwarts William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, and Olaoluwa Aina, as well as midfield maestros Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi. Leading the attack are the in-form forwards Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Simon Moses.

Also making the cut are defenders Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Raphael Onyedika and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, alongside attacking options Samuel Chukwueze and Sadiq Umar.

Czech Republic-based Igoh Ogbu, home-based midfielder Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Belgium-based forward Tolu Arokodare are among the notable inclusions.

The Super Eagles will lock horns with Group C leaders, Rwanda, in Kigali on Friday, March 21, before hosting Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on March 25.
