Court remands man for breaking church window

A 38 -year-old man, Oluwatosin Seun has been remanded at Olokuta correctional centre for alleged an attempt to steal church property.

The defendant who was arraigned in an Akure Chief Magistrates’ Court allegedly committed the offence on December 13, 2022 at 11:30am at Rccg Eternal life Parish in Akure.

The police prosecutor, Supol Martins Olowofeso told the court that the defendant attempt to commit felony by breaking the window glass of the church with intent to break in.

Martins said the defendant also maliciously damaged am aluminum window glass valued at N25,000 property of RCCG Eternal life Parish.

He stated further that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by loitering around RCCG Eternal life Parish, Akure after series of warning.

The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 508, 451, and 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1Laws of Ondo State Nigeria, 2006.

The defendant ,who is standing trial on three counts, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

Magistrate Olumiliua R.A, in her ruling, granted the defendant N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum .

The defendant was unable to perfect his bail, and was remanded at Olokuta correctional centre.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case till December 29, 2022 for hearing
