Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon.Agboola Ajayi has expressed satisfaction at the turn-out of people for the Continuous Voters’ Registration, (CVR) exercise in the state.

Speaking while monitoring the exercise at Methodist Primary School, Kiribo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state, the Deputy Governor said the large turnout of prospective voters showed that Nigerians are now more concerned about the democratic process to choose their leaders.

Ajayi lauded the state Governor, Akeredolu, SAN, for declaring a work-free day to enable eligible voters who had not registered to do so before  the Friday, August 31st deadline fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as it had afforded more people the opportunity to register.

He, however, called on, the electorate not to sell their votes but to vote for credible people who they know could represent them well.

Prospective voters who took part in the exercise, Mr. Segun Omosola and Esther Ajibade applauded INEC for extending the registration period till now and thanked Ondo State Government for the work-free day to allow workers to participate.

According to Omosola, many of the people had lost the hope of registering but with the extension and the holiday declared by the government, many more prospective voters were captured.
