Deji of Akure mourns Akeredolu

The Deji of Akure, Oba (Dr) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade said he received the news of the passing away of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, with shock.

Oba Aladetoyinbo described the death of Akeredolu as a colossal loss to the good people of Ondo State and the country at large.

In a statement personally signed by the Oba and made available to newsmen in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Michael Adeyeye, the monarch described Akeredolu as a fearless and resilient fighter for the course of justice and the interest of the masses.

‘Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, during his lifetime was honest and straight forward. He was passionate about the infrastructural and industrial development of Ondo State, many of which have started yielding fruitful results.

“There is no gainsaying that Governor Akeredolu lived up to his name of Mr Talk and Do who will always pursue his strong conviction into a logical conclusion.

“The maintenance of internal security in the south west through the establishment of Amotekun had remained one of the enduring legacies of Odunayo Akeredolu.

“There is no doubt that, the death of Aketi is a huge loss to us in Ondo State and Nigeria at large,” he said.

The monarch equally commiserated with the immediate family of Akeredolu and prayed that the Almighty God will grant them the fortitude to bear this huge loss.

“Indeed, Akeredolu has fought a good fight, he came, he saw and he conquered,” Oba Aladetoyinbo said.

Oba Aladetoyinbo therefore prayed God to grant the departed soul eternal rest and grant the good people of Ondo state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
