The Ekiti State government has alerted the public to a misleading message circulating on social media, claiming that candidates who scored 50 per cent and above in the recent TESCOM recruitment examination should urgently contact a ‘Youth President’ through a specified telephone number.
The Permanent Secretary of Ekiti States Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Mr Michael Boluwade, in a statement said the government stated that the message did not emanate from TESCOM or any official arm of the state government.
The statement described the message as the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to exploit unsuspecting job applicants, emphasised that TESCOM had not authorised any individual or group to direct candidates to contact any person privately regarding recruitment matters.
The statement added that all official communications relating to recruitment exercises are disseminated strictly through verified government channels and recognised media platforms.
Applicants were therefore advised to disregard the message and avoid contacting any telephone number provided by the suspected fraudsters or engaging with anyone claiming to offer assistance outside established procedures.
The Ekiti State government reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, merit-based and credible recruitment process, urging candidates to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communication to the appropriate security agencies.
Members of the public were further advised to rely solely on information released through verified government channels and recognised media platforms.
