Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon. Princess Kikelomo Ikuomola, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the flag-off of the 2.38-kilometre Akure Flyover Project, describing it as a significant investment in the state’s future.
Ikuomola said the project went beyond the construction of transport infrastructure, describing it as a deliberate response to the challenges of a growing city and a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to strategic investments that would keep the state moving forward.
She said effective infrastructure was critical to economic opportunities, public safety, mobility and the quality of life, adding that the flyover would help ease traffic pressure, improve connectivity and create a more efficient environment for residents, businesses and visitors.
“Leadership is not simply about identifying the challenges before us. It is about having the courage to make the investments that will improve lives today while preparing our communities for tomorrow,” she said.
“The flag-off of this flyover demonstrates Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to building an Ondo State where infrastructure supports opportunity, where movement is easier, businesses can thrive, and our cities are equipped for the future.”
Ikuomola said the project was also part of the administration’s broader commitment to sustainable development and responsible governance, noting that projects of such magnitude required vision, planning, collaboration and political will.
She congratulated Aiyedatiwa and the people of Ondo State on the commencement of the project, reaffirming her office’s commitment to constructive engagement with stakeholders and strengthening partnerships to advance the state’s development agenda.
She expressed confidence that the administration’s focus on strategic infrastructure, economic development and people-centred governance would leave an enduring legacy for generations to come.
“Ondo State is moving forward, one transformative investment at a time.”
