As Nigeria marks her 61st Independence Day anniversary today, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami, has assured the citizens of the state of maximum security.
Salami said the force, in its bid to ensure the success of all the activities lined up for the anniversary celebration, has put adequate security measures in place to protect the citizens and prevent any ugly situation during the celebration.
The police boss who spoke with The Hope Metro in an interview said the loyalty of the Nigeria Police Force to the people of the state tops its priority.
He advised the people of the state to observe the celebration in a peaceful and law-abiding manner.
“We have done everything by posting our men to various locations with patrol vehicles to monitor everywhere.
“People are free to go about their normal businesses since the government is doing a low key celebration.
“ People should report any incident that would obstruct security in the state to the nearest police station,” he said.
