Iwalewa visits Okitipupa LG Boss over violent protest

From Kayode Olabanji, Okitipupa

Chairman Okitipupa Local Government of Ondo State, Mr Igbekele Akinrinwa, has been enjoined to be strong as the best will soon happen even in the midst of storm.
Former Member representing Irele Constituency in the Ondo State Assembly, Mr. Afolabi Iwalewa, gave the advice during his courtesy visit to the Chairman to sympathise with him on the unfortunate arson that occurred in Okitipupa suburbs a week ago.
Iwalewa, a notable leader in Ondo South Senatorial District was in company of the immediate past Member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Mr. Albert Akintoye, urged the local government boss not to see the unfortunate arson as a setback, but should be happy he brought Okitipupa LGA into the mainstream politics.
He said: “Obviously, the landslide victory recorded by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and the incumbent Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was seen to be the reason for the anger.
He advised the Chairman to take consolation in the fact that during his time, Okitipupa after so many years is now in the mainstream.
“The Governor though an unrepentant blunt person still has a listening ear and this time around will give ears to the yearning of the people, Iwalewa said.
He said that the destruction of the house of Ifeoluwa Oyedele is however regrettable.
In his response, Mr Igbekele Akinrinwa, appreciated the visitation. He explained how he spent fortune and time just to avert the unfortunate incident but was fooled by the fake promises of the security apparatus especially the military to nip the situation in the bud.
He however, pleaded with the Governor not to dwell on the activities of the hoodlums but see the love displayed by the people during the last election to give credence to our plights.
